Stop the Ride!!!

I have been thinking about a ride that my older sister and I went on in our younger years.  The name of it is "Music Land Express".  Not being a thrill seeker myself it sounded and looked innocent enough.   It was a circular ride that just went around and around.  We sat down and the ride began...it started out slow but as it started to accelerate the force of the ride slammed my sister and I together and we couldn't  move.  It was scary and super uncomfortable and NOT fun!  Each time we passed the teenaged operator we would cry out "Stop the Ride" in unison.  Our cries were heard but not acknowledged and we just had to ride it out.

This is how I felt after meeting with doctors on Monday and Tuesday---I was on a ride that I hadn't wanted to go on--that I would NEVER choose to go on called Cancer--and yet here I was.  I felt as if things were spinning out of control and I could do nothing to stop it.  Tuesday evening, I felt I had reached my limit of this whole deal already.  Instead of feeling like fighting, I felt like laying down, running, retreating, and hiding.  I wanted off this ride!  Wednesday morning I received an e-mail from my sister saying that there was a new mormon message called "Courage" that I should watch.  As I watched it, tears rolled down my face as I felt that this message was for me--a direct gift and a tender mercy from a Heavenly Father who knows and loves me.  He is truly aware of us and that alone has given me strength!
